Directionless

Awesome.
So struck am I
When I peer into the sky
And realize
Nothing is there.

How frightening it must be for others
To be alone
With no light shone
No guide for them
To decide how to live their lives.

For me I am opposed
To the terror
That I am lost.
Because I am merely floating
In an ocean of opportunity.

In a world of billions
What is one person?
In a society of 'we'
Who am I?
That is my drive.

I can do anything
I can be anything
I have full choice in the matter
Because I am no one.
And I could be everyone.

That being said,
I'm going to read a book.
I am going to pet my dogs.
I am going to eat, drink and sleep.
I am going to enjoy life.

Life is mine.
