Dark Map

This is a draft of the first poem in my Latrodectus series. Enjoy.

"Dark Map"

I make my web as a memory of shadow.
Dark corners, untouched, unseen
This is my home.
I map out the dark.

What is kept in shadow
What is hidden away
What is forbidden to the light

That is where I lay.
That is where I live.
That is where my babies are born.

Little lings trapse through the tangles
And scatter to grow in light of their own.
This is my legacy.

I could die now.
